POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River football’s Travis Bendolph Jr. (Mobile, Ala.; Theodore) and volleyball’s Annalaura Williford (Bay St. Louis; Our Lady Academy) have been named Wildcats of the Week.

Pearl River football’s defense put on a show against Itawamba and Bendolph Jr. was a major reason that it happened. The redshirt freshman wreaked havoc on the Indian offensive line in the contest, registering a stellar 10 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack. Additionally, the defensive lineman added one forced fumble and one pass breakup.
Through PRCC’s first two games of the year, Bendolph Jr. has registered 18 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack.
ANNALAURA WILLIFORD
Williford was solid for the Pearl River volleyball team all week long. Across seven matches, the sophomore tallied 61 kills, 11 service aces, eight assists and six blocks. She also helped out on the defensive end, registering 65 digs.
Williford leads the way for the Wildcats this season with a team-high 96 kills. She’s currently second on the team in blocks (15) and digs (114).
NEXT UP
The Wildcats begin a two-match homestand Monday with a 6 p.m. contest against Gadsden State. The homestand continues Friday at 4 p.m. against Lurleen B. Wallace.
